Job Description

The Account Manager advances sales activities and brings the Avery Dennison value proposition to life at retailers and brand owners in the Southeast US primarily.  The role includes strategy development and execution, management of direct reports, and involves advocating for our customers’ needs and wants inside Avery Dennison.  Key success measures include profitable growth and sales initiative results, working in a way that demonstrates Avery Dennison values. The work is done in a high-trust, can-do, ‘winning everywhere’ environment.  The role collaborates with global peers, product management, business development, creative, operation sites, supply chain, finance, and leadership. Results are delivered by having broad sales and business development experience, expert-level negotiation skills, and the ability to build strategic customer relationships.

Your Responsibilities

Activities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Discover and evaluate new business opportunities to deliver profitable revenue growth exceeding 10% year-over-year
  • Analyze market segments from both buyer (retailer/brand) and user (manufacturing factories of retailer/brand) perspectives; develop account strategies that include elements of products, services, and solutions within 120 days of start date; execute the corresponding tactical plan
  • Develop and reference in-depth knowledge of the full range of Avery Dennison products, services, and solutions in partnering with customers to identify options and features that will drive their success
  • Utilize Avery Dennison standard sales and communication processes to plan and execute on account strategies
  • Execute joint business planning and customer-focused, global initiatives
  • Lead and/or coordinate new product development and sampling activities between our customers and our internal teams
  • Manage sales, profitability, and pipeline to target metrics; forecast and report-out
  • Develop influential relationships at multiple levels within the customer
  • Collaborate with Product Line Management, Business Development, other sales teams, and sourcing regions / production sites
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategies

Qualifications

  • Business or Marketing degree preferred
  • 3+ years selling experience (quota responsibility, market development, territory analysis, account planning, customer engagement, etc.), including new business selling (creating market penetration and growth strategies)
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating complex transactions with upper-level management positions
  • Experience with Apparel Industry preferred
  • Strong product knowledge in point-of-sale, woven, printed fabric, heat transfer, and variable data solutions is beneficial
  • Able to use SF.com and Google apps efficiently and effectively
  • Overnight travel estimated to be 25%
