The Finance team in EMEA support our fast growing company. As our global footprint continues to spread across the world, we are looking for a General Ledger Accountant with a focus on general accounting  to join our team in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

Under minimal supervision, you will perform the general accounting work in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with local GAAP and US GAAP. You will analyze accounts as well as prepare monthly reports, financial statements, statistical reports and tax reports. You will assist in the development and implementation of department policies, procedures, and programs in assigned areas. In addition, you will advise management and employees in your areas of expertise and assist internal and external customers.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Prepare month end, quarter end and year end close with good understanding of GAAP
  • Prepare preparation of annual statutory reporting for German entities
  • Responsible for monthly group reporting to US headquarters
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Prepare periodic analytical reviews
  • Interact with local auditors and tax consultants
  • Complete monthly VAT declarations
  • Ad hoc reporting and respond to questions from USA headquarters
  • Conduct technical accounting research where necessary
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs in areas of specialization
  • Project work

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting or related
  • Proficiency in local GAAP (HGB) required, US-GAAP knowledge helpful
  • Strong tax background (e.g. through experience in a tax advisor office)
  • At least 2 years practical experience with month end, quarter end and year end reporting
  • At least 2 years relevant experience in an international organization including experience in group & tax reporting
  • Preferred professional accounting qualification
  • Oracle knowledge preferred
  • Experience with legal entity mergers and changing group structure preferred
  • Strong MS Office (especially MS Excel) knowledge required
  • Structured and organized solutions-oriented approach
  • Takes ownership of assigned tasks
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independent and in collaborative work style as part of a team/team-player
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong German and English language skills required
  • Technical accounting ability with good analytical skills
  • High degree of commitment and flexibility
  • Positive attitude
