Job Description

We have an immediate need for an Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. You  will mainly work with one business unit, but will also support activities in other business units as assigned.   You will be responsible for booking JE’s, completing reconciliations, and Corporate schedules as well as complying with SOX requirements by providing needed information.

Primary Responsibilities

Position will perform general accounting duties including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Month Close: prepare various journal entries, review month-end balance sheet, run and reconcile Hyperion reports, prepare Quarterly Corporate schedules as assigned.
  • Perform accurate and timely balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Standardize General Accounting processes, identify best practices, and implement process improvements.
  • Manage and clear aged GRNI items for RBIS.
  • Complete monthly BEAT (Base Erosion Aggregated Tax) Analysis for Tax reporting.
  • Manage Fixed Asset and Construction-in-Process accounts for North American RBIS sites.
  • Assist in the coordination of SOX activities at assigned Division.
  • Monitor accounts handled by outside Shared Service Center.
  • Work with divisions and corporate on various special projects.
  • Prepare tax reports and year-end schedules.
  • Culture Alignment: drive evolution of Accountability, Collaboration, and Trust across the organization and proactively link responsibilities to key OGSM strategies.  Strong demonstration of business ethics and integrity compliance.
  • Personal Development: utilize Avery Dennison Performance Management System and tools to improve professional and personal development.
  • Assist in the Customer Rebate Accrual and Payment process.
  • Serve as a back up to process Canadian Drop Ship billings as required in AS400 system.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.  Accounting Degree preferred.
  • 2+ yrs accounting experience preferred; experience in a manufacturing company a plus.
  • Oracle Experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, specifically on the job experience with Macros, Pivot Tables and V-Lookup preferred.
  • Hyperion experience a plus
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Capable of working independently with minimal guidance
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good Problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and composure
