OVERVIEW

The Allocation Analyst position requires a detail-oriented candidate with strong analytical skills. You will assist in developing merchandise plans by analyzing historical data, store needs, demographics and forecasting trends. You will execute timely and accurate allocations utilizing sales volume ranking to support company inventory goals. You will be responsible for allocating merchandise to stores at style, colour, and size level consistent with store needs.You will recap and analyze actual sales results and inventories on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. In partnership with the Planning and Merchandise teams, you will develop distribution strategies based on analysis of current sales trend, inventory levels by store, and sales history to achieve optimal inventory levels. You will assist in identifying trends and business opportunities as needed. In addition, you may assist in the creation of sales and inventory plans to reflect company strategic initiatives. Our ideal candidate will be adaptable, flexible and a team player with a desire to make things happen.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Merchandise, Planning, Product Presentation, and Store Teams in order to implement and execute strategies for upcoming seasons
  • Maintain and execute an appropriate level of inventory based on an Open To Ship and floor capacity
  • Sales analysis to develop an allocation strategy by store in order to achieve individual store budgets
  • Analyze the stores’ trend and sales potential and react to maximize their turnover and profitability
  • Promotion and Markdown analysis to measure the direct impact on sales and inventory level
  • Create and maintain analysis reports for the leadership team in order to make business decisions
  • Set up replenishment parameters according to stores sales potential
  • Able to transfer and manage multiple sources of product as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years related allocation/planning/buying, business or retail experience (specialty apparel or footwear experience preferred)
  • An additional 2 years of relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Strong logical analysis and problem solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in EXCEL, including creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail math
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Comfortable and confident in ability to work with cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the business
  • Ability to work in a face pace environment, follow-through and meet timelines

TRAVEL:

  • Territory travel as required. ~5% of time
