Associate, Marketing FP&A – Consolidation & Technology

The Marketing Financial Planning & Analysis (MFP&A) team is looking for an Associate to join our team in Los Angeles. This position will focus on global marketing expense and cash forecasts, budget management, consolidated reporting, strategic financial modeling, and technology enhancements. Marketing leadership relies on the MFP&A team to accurately forecast expenses as well as inform important business decisions with actionable insights into expense trends.
The main stakeholders for this role are the MFP&A, Corporate FP&A, Finance Operations, and Finance Technology teams. This position plays a central role in the consolidation and communication of global marketing spend, as well as driving technology and reporting enhancements, with these stakeholders.
In this role, you will need to be a self-starter with tremendous skill in working and communicating in a fast-paced and changing environment. A successful candidate will need to have a full understanding of the P&L and Cash Flow Statement, be able to manage complex workstreams that involve multiple stakeholders, and build strong relationships across teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop long and near-term marketing expense and cash forecasts for Netflix’s marketing investment through partnership with broader MFP&A team
  • Lead monthly expense and cash variance analysis, risks & opportunities outlook, and calendar timeline communications
  • Create insightful presentations to summarize analyses and facilitate decision-making for marketing and finance leadership
  • Become highly proficient in our planning systems, including Anaplan and Essbase, and drive continuous technology improvements
  • Enhance monthly and ad-hoc reporting packages to drive further marketing spend transparency
  • Develop efficient and user-friendly financial models that enable sensitivity analysis, highlight clear insights, and consolidate summary outputs
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and partner with them to effectively identify, project manage, and execute against improvement areas
  • Periodic travel to Netflix office located in Los Gatos, CA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in FP&A or similar environment, Fortune 500 company experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature, preferably Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or a related field
  • Strong talent for crafting and presenting data-driven analyses and insights to stakeholders of all levels and backgrounds
  • Motivated and disciplined to work effectively and autonomously
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and tolerate ambiguity and shifting requirements
  • Highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
  • Superior proficiency with Excel and complex financial modeling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
