Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing safe, efficient, cost-effective, and robust automated systems that increase productivity, improve accuracy, maintain repeatability, reduce repetition, and achieve quality requirements.
  • Determine solutions to mechanical, electrical, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems, and make recommendations/decisions/based on this information.
  • Will include executing preventive/predictive maintenance procedures, improvements to preventive/predictive maintenance procedures, and unscheduled work orders on production cells
  • Assembly, Installation, Programming, and Troubleshooting of new work cells
  • Troubleshoot existing work cells as needed.
  • Aid in design/implementation of cell/cell layouts, and various projects
  • Aid in design/implementation of quality check systems in work cells
  • Continuously improve design/operation of components in work cells.
  • Keep production equipment and robotics area in clean and orderly condition at all times
  • Help provide financial justification for new projects and improvements to existing automated systems
  • Special projects as required by the Automation and/or Engineering Manager
  • Keep production equipment and robotics area in clean and orderly condition at all times.
  • Support code for programmable devices, such as robots, servo drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers in accordance with company standards
  • Aid in generating concise operator instructions for existing and new automated systems
  • Involvement in DOS activities

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma required
  • Completion of Vocational School course in Automation/Robotics or equivalent
  • OR a 2 or 4 year Engineering Degree
Requirements:
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people in a professional manner
  • Working knowledge of RS Logix, KAREL, and Microsoft Office
  • Must be self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility
  • Must be flexible, willing, and able to work excess hours when needed
  • Attend training when necessary.
