Essential Responsibilities:

Description:

The Base Cost Analyst provides effort in driving visibility & forecasting accuracy; take lead on Base Cost related projects; and timely deliver Base Cost analysis reportings to Greater China P&Ls. He/she will also work across finance and operational functions to optimize Base Cost initiatives, as well as other financial support.
Base Cost Analyst reports to Base Cost CoE Leader.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Partner closely with business leaders (HCS China P/Ls, especially Product and HQ) to proceed Base Cost estimation & variance analysis. Effectively analyze and communicate financial impact to P/Ls.

• Take lead on Base Cost related projects (e.g. Program Tracking; T&L Reporting automation) in order to: simplify working process; enhance Base Cost visibility/accuracy; realize cost savings.

• Monitor and partner closely with P&L/Product finance on controllable BC account (e.g. Program, T&L, AR Provision) to drive visibility and productivity

• Partner with HR on headcount reconciliation and movement monitoring. Improve visibility/internal process on employee cost tracking.

• Ensure deliverables (estimations, analysis reports, etc.) are ready/distributed on time. Facilitating across P/Ls / Functions to gather required information for deliverables preparations.

• Assist in providing value-added base cost related management decision support.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration and 2 years’ financial work experience

• Proper analytic skills: able to link financial results to operational performance drivers.

• Good verbal & written communication skills: fluency in English; experience working across multiple levels, functions and businesses; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner

• Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, BOXI, Spotfire, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• FMP Graduates or GE internal candidates is preferred

• CPA is preferred

• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to add value to operating teams

• Adaptable/Flexible: being open to changes in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

• Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
