Responsibilities
|
|
The Chief Privacy Officer will be the primary point of contact responsible for all organizational privacy matters including privacy strategy and leading the company’s global privacy program. The CPO provides strategic and operational direction to all business units, identifies and manages risks appropriately through the responsible use of resources. Based at the corporate headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky and reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer as part of the IT Security Team, the CPO will be responsible for ongoing monitoring and reporting compliance with various regulatory and contractual obligations such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Protection Act, Brazil’s General Data Protection Law, and Lexmark’s CFIUS related National Security Agreement (NSA). This role requires an individual with a strong background in Information Technology (IT), data privacy laws, corporate business operations and ability to present to an executive audience.
Chief Privacy Officer responsibilities are overall leadership of Lexmark’s privacy program, including:
- Develop strategy for privacy program to drive competitive advantage
- Collaborate with supervisory authorities and serve as the contact point on issues relating to the processing of personal data
- Manage Lexmark’s data loss prevention program
- Support marketing of Lexmark’s privacy and security programs
- Inform and advise Lexmark business units of their obligations to comply with the GDPR, National Security Agreement (NSA) and other global data protection laws
- Manage Privacy by Design programs across business units
- Co-chair Security & Privacy Council
- Perform data protection impact assessments
- Implement and maintain all related corporate policies (Privacy Policy, Privacy Notice, Data Classification, Retention, Cookie Policy)
- Support 3rd party audits for contractual and regulatory compliance
- Address inquiries from data subjects on issues relating to data protection practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten, and related rights
- Act as subject matter expert to internal stakeholders e.g. Sales, Sourcing, IT, Development, HR, Corporate Legal to include some customer-facing engagements
- Actively participate in the review, drafting, negotiation of privacy and security related terms in both customer and vendor agreements.
- Assist CISO with coordination of incident response
- Proactively stay informed of applicable regulatory changes.
- Represent Lexmark and Privacy@Lexmark in external industry events and organizations
Job Requirements:
- Expert knowledge and understanding of applicable privacy laws
- Ability to deal with confidential and/or sensitive issues and information
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Executive presence, and strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across disciplines within Lexmark
- Ability to juggle conflicting demands and effectively prioritize
- Good understanding of global outsourcing, cloud services and software licensing
- Skills in contract review and negotiation
- Vendor management
- Knowledge of IT business systems
Education and Experience
- International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certification
- Experience building, implementing, maintaining global privacy or similar compliance program.
- 3-5 years of experience in privacy or other compliance role
- Law degree (J.D.) or graduate degree in business, public policy, or regulatory compliance.
