Job Description

The Civil/Structural Engineer ensures the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of Fixed and Floating Gulf of Mexico producing assets, and that asset and system integrity plans including verification and assurance controls are in place and fit for purpose, in particular that civil and structural risks are managed to ALARP.

The Civil/Structural Engineer will also:

  • Execute Civil/Structural PM Program, develop KPIs, and analyze Inspection Data and create CMs
  • Project Manage Continuous Improvement/Optimization
  • Plan, prepare, schedule and execute major maintenance
  • Provide Brownfield/Greenfield project Technical assurance to assure Discipline Controls Assurance Framework, Project Controls Assurance Plan, and Management of Changes
  • Design minor modifications to structural systems on supported facilities
  • Provide Technical support for construction activities on supported facilities, including lift plan reviews
  • Provide Asset Support – RCA, Wells Reservoir & Facility Management, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, IAP, Manage Threats and Opportunities,
  • Execute Discipline Proactive Technical Monitoring
  • Deliver cost reductions for Discipline
  • Produce Discipline Specific Processes & KPIs
  • Provide Discipline specific turnaround scope
  • Execute Critical Sparing Process
  • Support Asset Integrity through the implementation of  Asset Management System utilizing the Civil Discipline Assurance Framework document.
  • Develop and Maintain Discipline content for Maintenance Reference Plans (Includes Life Extension, Obsolescence)
  • Provide input on Discipline Specific Strategy Staircases
  • Develop and Maintain Technical Integrity & Maintenance Strategy Standards
  • Develop and Maintain Project Specific Technical Specifications (PSTSs) – Alignment with Design and Engineering Practices (DEPs)

Requirements

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Experience: 10+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited college or university in a related engineering discipline
  • Must have a US P.E. license and able to get a P.E. in Louisiana within 6 months
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to Safety as a Value
  • Excellent Change Management skills
  • Proven ability to work across team and within cross-discipline teams
  • Strong operational background preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with engineers and with operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities to build ownership toward the asset and maximize overall results
  • Work through others to achieve results while mentoring and developing staff competence
  • Identify and implement effective courses of action to complete work and ensure achievement of departmental goals.
  • Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines
  • Able to participate in and pass HUET training and get a TWIC card.
  • Occasional work in the offshore environment required.
