Role Summary:
As Communications Manager, you will play an important role on Baker Hughes’ Oilfield Services (OFS) business/product company supporting internal, employee and product line communications team. In this role, you will help develop an overarching framework for communications at OFS, and you will oversee all communications activities and campaigns tied to OFS’ business priorities as they relate to people, product lines and processes.
In partnership with OFS leaders, you will build awareness and understanding of initiatives related to:
- Business transformation
- Employee engagement
- Corporate rebranding
- Development and management of important communications channels, including intranet, internet and social media
Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Communications Specialist, you will:
- Be the advisor to senior leaders with strong business acumen
- Influencer capable of bringing cross-functional teams together to drive business outcomes
- Possess strong communications practitioner able to produce concise communications plans in a short timeframe
- Creative storyteller comfortable working across a wide variety of channels (email, intranet, social, events, broadcast)
- Be a clear thinker able to organize complex and sensitive content into straightforward communications for a variety of audiences
- Be the skilled manager of projects and people
- Coordinate across the business and the company
- Be the special project manager supporting rebranding and other communications related activities
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and/or journalism
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience developing and executing strategic employee and change management communications strategies and plans
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding organization skills, presentation skills and verbal & written communication skills
- Experience in digital and print content creation and content strategy development and execution
- Technical knowledge of multiple communication channels, to include but not be limited to, websites, blogs, apps, newsletters, email, and social media
- Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise messaging
- Communication experience
- Oil & gas or energy industry experience
