The News Feed Design team has a new leadership opportunity with the ability to have meaningful impact on the most widely used surface on the planet – Facebook. We’re looking for someone thoughtful enough to look after the needs of a couple billion users, but also ambitious enough to know what it means to take make significant change in a risky environment. We need a product design leader who can support their team as it engages in career-making work, while coordinating with partners across the company to ensure a timely and flawless execution on multiple surfaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute on the first major app-wide refresh of the Facebook visual system since its inception.
  • Lead the creative team in its support of company-wide partnerships to create and enforce quality standards for execution within the new system.
  • Recruit and build a successful systems design team oriented towards relationships and stability of News Feed, Stories, and the wider app experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of industry experience in a people management role on a Design team.
  • 10+ years of design experience.
  • Visual and interaction experience and experience shaping product strategy.
  • A portfolio of work that contains examples of Interaction (UX) Design and Visual Systems Development across devices.
  • Experience leading product strategy.
  • Experience communicating with data to drive change.
  • Experience understanding prototyping tools such as Framer, InVision, Origami, or Figma.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical background and have experience building the things you’ve designed.
  • Interested in and keep up with design tools and design systems community/space.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring senior designers to help advance their careers.
  • Experience creating and improving processes to build high functioning teams.
