Responsibilities
- Possess a strong understanding of the Retail Cannabis Store Handbook Advertising Policies, The Cannabis Act and Regulation;
- Develop, plan, implement new and manage existing marketing communications plans including strategies, goals, budgets and tactics;
- Ensure the message is consistent across all social media mediums to brand the image correctly;
- Experienced in advertising in many different types of media including radio, television, Internet, printed publications and others;
- Establishing media and community relationships in all regions we operate in and creating unique marketing campaigns for each community based on demographics, location, local trends and behaviors;
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, bench marking, messaging and audience identification;
- Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to act;
- Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content;
- Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information;
- Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions;
- Create content and an experience that is so compelling that you transform them from “visitor” status into “customer” status;
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding the communication strategies surrounding them.
About you
Requirements
- Must hold a qualified Cannabis Worker Certification & Sell Safe Certification (AGLC);
- Proven working experience in Social Media Marketing or as a digital media specialist;
- Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills;
- Proven social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge;
- Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO);
- Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels;
- Positive attitude, attention to detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational skills;
- Post-Secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Proficient in Adobe software (Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, etc.);
- High level of ethics, values, integrity and trust;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Impeccable time management;
- Ability to work independently and with others;
- Self-driven.
