About this role

Responsibilities

  • Possess a strong understanding of the Retail Cannabis Store Handbook Advertising Policies, The Cannabis Act and Regulation;
  • Develop, plan, implement new and manage existing marketing communications plans including strategies, goals, budgets and tactics;
  • Ensure the message is consistent across all social media mediums to brand the image correctly;
  • Experienced in advertising in many different types of media including radio, television, Internet, printed publications and others;
  • Establishing media and community relationships in all regions we operate in and creating unique marketing campaigns for each community based on demographics, location, local trends and behaviors;
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, bench marking, messaging and audience identification;
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to act;
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content;
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information;
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions;
  • Create content and an experience that is so compelling that you transform them from “visitor” status into “customer” status;
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding the communication strategies surrounding them.

About you

Requirements

  • Must hold a qualified Cannabis Worker Certification & Sell Safe Certification (AGLC);
  • Proven working experience in Social Media Marketing or as a digital media specialist;
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills;
  • Proven social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge;
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO);
  • Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels;
  • Positive attitude, attention to detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational skills;
  • Post-Secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Proficient in Adobe software (Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, etc.);
  • High level of ethics, values, integrity and trust;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Impeccable time management;
  • Ability to work independently and with others;
  • Self-driven.
