Director, Product Marketing, Workplace

Facebook seeks an experienced leader to manage and support a product marketing team that is helping organizations transform how they connect, collaborate, and get work done with Workplace by Facebook. This is a key leadership role charged with managing a high-performing team that is helping build, bring to market, and scale products and solutions. The successful candidate will lead managers and individual contributors to assess market needs and conduct research to influence new product development, evaluate approaches to mitigate product risks, develop global launch plans to bring products to market, and identify opportunities to improve existing products. This role will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Sales leadership. Excellent strategic thinking skills, people management skills, cross-functional leadership, analytical and communication skills, and comfort with ambiguity are a must. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of collaboration and enterprise productivity products, a track record of shaping product strategy and growing product adoption, a strong bias for action, and a vision for how we can better meet the needs of our partners. Director, Product Marketing, Workplace Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a world-class product marketing team. Mentor team members to support their performance and development
  • Serve as a go-to contact with executive management of partner organizations and independently navigate challenging relationships across functions and geographies
  • Inform product strategy in partnership with product management and engineering across multiple product areas and establish and drive both inbound product marketing and the go-to-market planning
  • Identify significant long-term opportunities based on research, analysis and a strategic view of the direction of the market. Conduct market assessments, including opportunity size, competitive analysis, target customers and product requirements
  • Synthesize both qualitative and quantitative feedback on product from clients and partners
  • Manage product alphas and betas to direct product refinements and identify critical client needs that must be met by the product in order to launch
  • Define and manage comprehensive go-to-market strategy and planning including positioning, launch strategy, PR, sales and partner materials. Manage the product launch process.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Significant experience in technology, internet, or enterprise productivity software industries
  • Experience in product marketing, product management, or management consulting
  • Experience building, launching, and scaling products and bringing products to market
  • Experience with founding or leading a company or division and/or launching products and businesses
  • Experience attracting, motivating, retaining, and developing leaders and team members
  • Experience appraising the strengths and weaknesses of team members and building cross-functional teams
  • Experience in influencing and communicating cross-functionally
  • Analytical and communication experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • History of success building, launching, and scaling products
  • Experience with founding or leading a company or division and/or launching products and new businesses
  • Ability to select, attract, motivate, retain, and develop leaders and team members. Able to accurately appraise the strengths and weaknesses of team members and build a strong, diverse team that complements each other to achieve outstanding results
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally and with management at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate and simplify ambiguous, complex, and large-scale concepts
  • MBA
