At Facebook AR/VR Hardware, we’re developing the future of Portal, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products. As a Display Electrical Engineer, you will be a member of our Display and Optics organization, taking lead in display electrical design to set the technical goals, lead the development of leading edge technologies, and works with the current and evolving ecosystem to provide differentiating capabilities to our HW platforms. You will be part of a tight-knit group of highly talented engineers at the forefront of the innovation for AR/VP and portal products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the display subsystem architecture and electrical design including scoping the next generation display driver IC (DDIC) feature requirements, working with silicon team on the IP development strategy and implementation, and working with cross-functional teams in partnership evaluation and selection
  • Represent the company in display industrial standard organization working groups
  • Lead the display subsystem electrical design including DDIC evaluation and selection, display module flex layout, ESD and EMI mitigation feature design and display interface definition
  • Author display electrical requirements and specs, review and approve vendor design proposals, document test methodology, test workbook and component electrical qualification criteria, and support the system validation and quality control process
  • Display interface characterization capability development
  • Work closely with display IC, panel and module vendors throughout the design, sample, and engineering validation phases to address any design, production, and quality issues
  • Display module power up and test setup creation/development
  • Travel both domestically and internationally
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of working experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Display driver IC (mixed signal circuits, digital logic, analog power) design/testing/development
  • Display electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation
  • High-speed serial display electrical interfaces standards, particularly in MIPI protocol design/testing/implementation
  • Experience in participating and representing in industrial standard organization working groups such as MIPI and VESA
  • Knowledge of the mixed signal IC design and fabrication process
  • Hands-on experience in display electrical test system development
  • Knowledge of display driver IC supply base and relationship with the vendor ecosystem
  • Experience working, collaborating, and communicating in a cross-functional team setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in driving cross-functional projects with silicon design skills
  • Logical and creative thinking experience
