In a fast-paced company like Dell, the flow of materials, parts, supplies and equipment has to be smooth and accurate. We’re working at the cutting edge of technology, putting out new products before our competitors so we need to get it right. Our Distribution team within Materials and Procurement is tasked with the vital hands-on job of monitoring and checking the flow of components against scheduled commitments. Our broad remit includes shipping, receipt of goods, order fulfillment, storage and distribution, as well as maintenance of the purchase order system.
Typically requires 2+ years of related experience
Key Responsibilities
- Handles parts with or without material handling equipment, requiring safety and delicate handling procedures
- Process material through the receiving and incoming inspection process to ensure availability for production
- Ensures all materials transactions are completed accurately in systems
- Schedules and conducts cycle counts for assigned stockrooms
- Supports overall shipping process and flow of work for area
- Regularly interacts with external carriers in the shipment of products
- Makes recommendations on assignment within an area to meet demands
- Assists team lead in processes and direction
- Leads the completion of special projects
- Resolves discrepancy and escalated issues
- Is skilled and certified on the operation of applicable fork-truck machinery
Essential Requirements
- 2+ years of related experience
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- SAP or Oracle system knowledge
- Shipping FedEx/UPS/DHL and or common carriers
- Generating BOL documentation
