MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Develop strategic network design for Africa, with a 5-year outlook and refresh ongoing. Support overall delivery of Logistics Excellence Strategy and goals within Africa. Support Savings agenda with development of operational modeling and scenario building across both short and medium terms, to drive productivity within operations. Support and enable roll-out of global programs and best practice across Region.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Drive overall supply chain productivity by partnering with supply chain stakeholders, and conducting joint network overlays
  • Support implementation teams to develop business cases, and roll-out identified initiatives
  • Create the Models (e.g. with Supply Chain Guru) and run optimisation and simulations to identify the best central fulfilment for each country/ MCO
  • Collect all plans from the Multichannel Networks plans (from Retailers) to align and create a complete EU network design proposal
  • Maintain the Africa model and frequently adjust based on new insights and planning data
  • Analysis and conclusion for individual fulfilment capacities as well as total distribution network
  • Lead network optimisation and simulation activities in the Africa fulfilment network
  • Establish and implement guidelines (e.g. design principles) and ways of working
  • Lead and Support both Regional and Global Network Optimization/ Simulation Projects
 
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • University Degree/ Diploma, Supply Chain/ Logistics or similar qualification
  • 3 years solid Models design and run optimisation and simulations for quicker product release to market and drive accurate volumes across the correct locations within FMCG environment either as a Distribution Network Analysts, Distribution Supervisor, Distribution Planner or Supply Chain Analyst
  • 3 years Planning, and Functional business process knowledge is essential
  • 3 years proven working knowledge with Supply Chain Guru/ Llamasoft (modelling and application)
  • In-depth working knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Logistics Strategy and Operations
  • *Must have proficient Project Management experience specifically from concept design through to execution i.e. proven ability to influence new ideas and mapping how to achieve the proposed and desired outcomes
  • Proven experience with explain and unpacking complex systems into an understandable way to a wide stakeholder group 
  • *Excellent understanding of Logistics Finances (Warehouse and Distribution cost drivers)
  • *Must have excellent MS Excel skills and experience at an advanced level
