Boeing is seeking an Entry Level E-4B Maintenance Support Engineer to join our E-4B Program Depot Maintenance (PDM) Support Team, which provides modification and sustainment support services to the United States Air Force (USAF) and Boeing for its fleet of (4) Boeing E-4B (747-200B) aircraft.  This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Aircraft Maintenance Service Engineer for this organization will be part of a team providing sustainment and modification support to the USAF to help maintain and sustain its fleet of Boeing E-4B aircraft.  This engineer will evaluate maintenance requirements (e.g., task cards, service bulletins), research support equipment, parts, materials, and tools to support aircraft maintenance and modifications.  Additionally, this engineer will identify and plan for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance based on current requirements and historical maintenance activity.  This engineer will also research and contribute to the development of PDM Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work with analysts, supplier management, and external vendors to plan and pre-process overhauls and repairs for various parts.  Furthermore, this engineer will work with and learn from more senior engineers and technical analysts; and work closely with the team and Government customers to ensure the continued safe operation of the fleet.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain fleet-wide aircraft maintenance forecasts and schedules for E-4B maintenance.
  • Evaluate and/or create and issue E-4B maintenance work packages.
  • Validate aircraft, support equipment, parts, and materials are scheduled and routed per plan.
  • Reconcile maintenance plans to accommodate both contractor led and customer led maintenance.
  • Maintain awareness of operational activities and aircraft on the ground maintenance events.
  • Provide support for operator recovery plans for operational disruptions due to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Researches and develops engineering updates of simple technical in-service issues.
  • Assists system owner in preparation of technical communications
  • Researches fleet data to uncover potential improvement areas
  • Collects and evaluates data on customer findings of the recurrent product support issues
  • Assists with the design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability
  • Works under close supervision

The preferred candidate will have the desire to gain some or all of the following:

  • Experience with aircraft depot maintenance (i.e. scheduled, unscheduled, C-Check)
  • Experience with depot maintenance task cards and work flow scheduling
  • Experience with Boeing aircraft maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogue, and component maintenance manuals
  • Experience supporting military commercial derivative aircraft with FAA continued airworthiness
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance management, including planning and alignment of maintenance requirements and capturing and utilizing maintenance records

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience building strong business partner relationships
  • Experience in a role which required strong interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with leading projects
  • Experience working in a team setting
  • Background and domain knowledge in one or more of Aviation, Aerospace and/or Airline Operations

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
