Job Description

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Specialist to support our operations in Helena, Montana.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs maintenance on factory equipment.
  • Develops and monitors preventative maintenance plans.
  • Performs complex troubleshooting, analysis, inspection, disassembly, rebuild, modification and testing of factory machinery and equipment as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Uses, interprets and issues changes to blueprints and schematics to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Responds to and provides guidance related to routine and complex requests for equipment repair.
  • Maintains and manages component and replacement part inventories.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Representative Major Tasks (Reflects typical job family activities. Specific activities may vary by Business Unit, region, site or assignment):
    • Responds to and provide guidance on complex and non-routine equipment repair requests by communicating with requestor via the Facilities Service Request, identifies problems, troubleshoots and executes repair.
    • Troubleshoots complex equipment problems to ensure machine utilization supports production by analyzing, testing, inspecting equipment when and where necessary. Trains less experienced employees.
    • Performs lockout/tagout when and where required to ensure a safe work environment by following Company policy.
    • Performs preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency by following regularly scheduled, routine, manufacturer recommended maintenance schedules and Company policy.
    • Develops preventative maintenance plans and instructions and monitors compliance.
  • Representative Additional Tasks (Reflects additional typical job family activities. Specific activities may vary by Business Unit, region, site or assignment):
    • Provides guidance and direction on which external suppliers should be used.
    • Orders and stores component inventory and replacement parts for the repair of equipment through external suppliers and facilities components warehouse.
    • Removes and replaces equipment components with a variety of non-standard tools to meet production equipment utilization requirements.
    • Researches and makes recommendations for new and innovative tooling and test equipment.
    • Directs the prioritization and scheduling of daily work assignments based on production and customer needs and management priority to maintain production equipment utilization.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience performing equipment maintenance on CNC machines

 

Typical Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

 

  • Experienced CNC machine Equipment Maintenance Mechanical Technician with 10 or more years of experience.
  • Experience on CNC Machines, Shot Peen Equipment, CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
