Essential Functions:

  • Perform all levels and types of estimating, planning, scheduling and cost engineering project activities.
  • Accurately take off all utility projects
  • Management of material vendor relationships, including packaging and presentation of RFQs and evaluation of vendor pricing.
  • Management of subcontractors
    • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors/partners
    • Manage subcontractor database
    • Prepare RFQs and evaluate vendor pricing
    • Understanding of Civil construction related to substation, transmission, and other utility T&D projects
    • Understanding of power delivery, including substations and transmission lines
    • Understanding of engineering scopes, including electrical, structural, civil, civil experts (hydrology, Geothech, etc…) and permitting
  • May train and develop skills of estimators

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of estimating experience in the utility space
  • Experience with design/build and engineer, procure, construct (EPC)
  • Experience with Accubid preferred
