BGS International Government and Defense organization is seeking an Experienced Project Management Specialist to proactively lead efforts in the P-8 United Kingdom Training Program which consists of United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defense customers via a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract through the US government. The position will report to P-8 UK Training Systems Program Manager. The successful candidate will provide the leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas and capabilities, which may include internal and external resources and customers. The successful candidate will proactively lead, plan, identify and coordinate resources from multi-skilled disciplines and support functions required over the life of the project to deliver quality service and product within cost and schedule targets.  The candidate will be the primary focal for both external and internal customer interface and coordination activities related to the overall management of the project. The project manager will communicate directly with BDUK personnel, as well as working directly with the Project Engineer and Program Manager to form a leadership team atop the project for execution, planning and status reporting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Successful candidate will assist in develop of project plans and deliverables, set ambitious operational goals, direct all project phases and act contact to project stakeholders.
  • Establishes, monitors and integrates project elements, product configuration and communications concerning change management processes and decisions.
  • Performs project management activities in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO-standards).
  • Coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project and team, finance, planning, scheduling and line management.
  • Uses trend, variance analyses and risk assessments and mitigations to maintain work statements, cost and schedule baselines.
  • Transitions projects to customer for on-going support.
  • Performs project close-out and documents lessons learned.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 3 years of Earned Value Management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience using Program Management Best Practices.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with USN P-8 or similar aircrew and maintenance training products
  • Prior Military Training Experience
  • Direct experience working with International Customers.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and design principles and concepts, PMI certification and completion of Program.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years’ related work experience, 10 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
