This position relates to processing of import and export shipments of auto parts at the Dana Global Trade Center in support of Dana’s manufacturing and global supply chain. The Import-Export Coordinator acts as a liaison between customers and suppliers world-wide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deal directly with suppliers and customers domestically and internationally to ensure delivery of goods to appropriate locations.
  • Process, monitor and expedite customer orders and shipments
  • Coordinate the flow of purchasing processes between suppliers and customers.
  • Arrange all ocean, air and truck shipments to/from the Dana Global Trade Center
  • Prepare all shipping documentation (including, but not limited to Packing List, Commercial Invoice, and Bill of Lading).
  • Facilitate US Customs clearance and ISF filing for Imports, and file export declaration (SED) on AES system for Exports.
  • Mediate debates between supplier and customer over responsibility of premium expedite charges, provide historical information and prepare release analysis if necessary.
  • Log and track all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate directly with dray carrier for container movement to/from the port.
  • Coordinate and delineate priorities with Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Department in the form of a daily hot sheet, pack sheets and load sheets.
  • Provide reports for sales and volumes of shipments to management for plant forecasting.
  • Maintain physical and electronic record of all shipments passing through the facility.
  • Coordinate extraneous billing circumstances with accounting group (debit/credit memos).
  • Coordinate with Quality Department regarding PPAP+PSW, quality disputes, and packaging charges.
  • Monitor plant inventory levels to maintain acceptable levels.

  • Must have excellent analytic and organization skills
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and accurate
  • Must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Must have a high energy level and be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Must be highly motivated and be a strong team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in Import/Export environment a plus
  • Foreign language skills a plus
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
