This position can be based in DC, VA, and MD and is responsible for generating sales within named Federal Government’s Civilian Accounts. This is a direct customer facing role with emphasis on developing new customers and supporting existing MPS accounts. Requires a high level of daily activities including cold calling, briefings, workshops, studies, demonstrations, proposals, etc.  The Account Manager builds and maintains a strong presence within the agency and develops a network of colleagues, partners, resellers and solutions providers to help close business.  Creates new opportunities and is directly involved in developing and presenting products, solutions and/or services that specifically address customer’s needs. Demonstrates strong knowledge of the company’s entire product line and offerings.

Job Responsibilities: 

This position requires strong complex selling skills and the ability to work with all Lexmark resources to drive business. This position also requires ability to develop new cold accounts. The major areas of responsibility are as follows:

  1. Profitable Revenue Growth – Hardware, Solutions, Services
  2. Direct responsibility for identifying, qualifying, developing, proposing & closing new customers and new opportunities. Work effectively with both internal and external resources to successfully close sales.
  3. Minimum expectation is to achieve annual revenue objectives.
  4. Strong understanding of managed print services and output solutions

Job Experience and Education Expectations:

  1. Ability to work independently and think outside the box.
  2. Willingness to learn the skill of selling – Matching a solution to solve a business problem.
  3. Strong presentation skills. Able to clearly and concisely develop & deliver concept presentations
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of a complex sale
  5. Able to effectively work with, engage and manage multiple different team resources
  6. Ability to plan, organize, develop, and complete a complex proposal response.
  7. Skilled at defining an organizations current environment total cost of operation (TCO) and developing key pricing elements.
  8. Experienced with high degree of proficiency using MicroSoft Dynamics, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS-Word.
  9. Direct responsibility for driving each element of the sale cycle: Prospecting initiatives, qualifying, proposals & studies, RFQs, and closing services sales.
  10. Bachelor degree preferred, advanced degree preferred
  11. Travel will be approximately 25% of the time for accounts in DC, VA, MD areas

Desired:

  1. Management Skills – Should have prior/current experience leading a team, project, etc.
  2. Technical – Knowledgeable of current systems and networks
  3. Knowledge of the Civilian Agencies in the US Federal Government
  4. 5+ years of sales experience selling to the Federal Government.
