DESCRIPTION

Amazon seeks an exceptional Financial Analyst (FA) to support the UK Transportation Finance team. As a finance leader, you will be responsible for defining and driving key financial projects in Europe. In this position, you will drive strategic initiatives to improve overall cost efficiency in the context of CX performance, improve our financial reporting & forecasting relevance, quality and efficiency, and provide decision support to key stakeholders. The Financial Analyst will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including retail finance consumer, internal Amazon middle and last mile carriers, Supply Chain and EU Inbound/Outbound Transportation.

The successful candidate will have the ability to simultaneously tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. The position requires a strategic, analytical mind and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. This is a role with exposure to senior management across Amazon businesses and requires structured thinking and strong communication skills.

Key Objectives:-

– Build and enhance financial models used to understand & optimise the company’s transportation cost/revenue.
– Compile/review financial results and plans and communicate results to company leaders.
– Equip management with regular actionable reporting to enable decision making.
– Maintain a solid controllership environment around transportation spend in all areas including but not limited to outbound transportation, warehouse transfers, trailer spends and customer returns.
– Utilise strong data analysis skills to identify & drive execution of opportunities, in order to improve cost efficiency in specific countries or across the network.
– Create strong relationships within UK Operations and Supply Chain and be key member of projects by providing accurate information on transportation spend.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or similar degree.
– Advanced skills in MS Office and SQL.

Required Experience:
-Relevant experience with a blend of working in commercial and controllership areas.
– Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking.
– Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly and drive issues to solution.
– Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to develop ideas independently, and to multitask as needed in a fast-paced environment.
– High attention to detail and a frame of structured and organized thinking.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
– MBA, MSc or MEng (Computer Sciences, Economics, Business Admin, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent).
– Experience in operations/supply chain/manufacturing environments.
