Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mathematics or Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in finance/FP&A, management consulting, investment banking or similar environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with early stage product development and a flexibility to adapt to new approaches/thinking in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Financial planning, systems, budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to be a trusted translator between product and finance leadership.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you’ll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You’ll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

As a Finance Analyst, you’ll inform decisions on strategies and investments. You will work to establish milestones, metrics and controls while at the same time mitigating risks and liabilities. You will also build a robust financial infrastructure/operations and act as a trusted financial advisor. In addition, you’ll manage and drive efficiency in core finance processes such as financial planning, management reporting, business reviews, and business planning. You will also support financial planning cycles and drive visibility into business performance and resource planning decisions at global and regional level.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to define, optimize and drive their business model. Forecast with a good understanding of the underlying business and communicate key sensitivities.
  • Drive, forecasting, budget management and trade offs. Provide analytical insight and influence decisions on P&L and profitability optimization, user acquisition, and efficient use of resources. Identify risk, liability, propose solutions and secure management buy-in to resolve; escalate as necessary.
  • Determine appropriate capital allocation and budgeting. Keep stakeholders informed on key financial metrics and work to improve financial operation practices. Identify key financial/strategic opportunities and challenges, and partner with the business to address.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the businesses by providing visibility into the performance of the business. Help assess and review partnership agreements and new business opportunities.
