Position Overview

This role provides financial leadership for the company’s franchised bottler portfolio for all markets (US and International) and is accountable for accounts receivable management for a portfolio of approximately $1B in exposure spanning the franchised bottler community.  This A/R represents the cash realization of invoiced revenue of approximately $15B annually and encompasses the sales of Company-produced products to the Coca-Cola bottling system.  The A/R Manager leads a retained team of 5 associates based in the US and (secondary location).  Serves as a liaison between the company’s franchised leadership team and the company’s managed service provider.

Provides  strategic  and  finance  direction,  policy  interpretation,  and  operational  decision  making  to  franchise leadership  and  finance,  as  well  as cultivates and maintains relationships with business (customer / bottler) clients.Provides guidance and oversight/performance management for the retained  and Managed Service Provider’s accounts  receivable  organization  in  the  administration  and  handling  of  accounts  receivable.    Ensure financial controls are being met in the management of accounts receivable and the resolution of associated customer (bottler)claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide  leadership  and  direction  to  the Managed  Service  Provider in  managing  accounts  receivable  for  franchised  bottlers  in  order to maximize receivable turnover and minimize amounts becoming past due or impaired
  • Continually review and analyze accounts to ensure that account balances are within expected ranges and payment trends are in line with company standards
  • Provide  input related to  forecasting  as  it  relates  to  collections,  providing  guidance  to  team  for  goal  attainment,  and  feedback  to management relating to ongoing accounts receivable status
  • Plan,  organize,  lead  and  control  the  activities  of  the  group  including  the  management  of  the  retained  staff,  the  staffing  level  and organization  of  the Managed Service Provider’steam. This  includes  operational and  strategic  efforts  supporting  business  process improvement including cost management opportunities and initiatives.
  • Understand regional and country-specific differences required in the management of the portfolio across different geographies
  • Develop and  drive  best  practices  in  operations  and  processes  ensuring  consistency  with  company  requirements,  internal  and  external controls and audit requirements according to the Chart of Authority, and in compliance with control policies
  • Develop management reporting mechanisms for daily, weekly, monthly tracking of accounts receivable performance and perform routine audits of accounts receivable transactions being executed by the Managed Service Provider.
  • Provide leadership regarding the implementation of new business models, customer (bottler) strategies, or sales initiatives
  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert to external clients regarding business policies, procedures, processes, and measures that drive the realization of business strategies (e.g., accounts receivable management, claims resolution)
  • Active  participant  at  the  leadership  team  level  for  the Business  Units supported  and  conduct  in-person  client  and  customer  /  bottler meetings to review the status of results for the customer portfolio versus performance standards and goals, and take specific actions or make recommendations in order to ensure performance goals are met
  • Foster an environment of operational excellence and promote/implement continuous improvement practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior finance and business leaders with our largest bottlers as well as internally within the business

What you need to be successful

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+years of experience in Accounts Receivable in a commercial / business-to-business environment and experience managing large dollar portfolios.
  • Prior experience in general finance / financial accounting desirable
  • Knowledge of cash management principles used within a business environment
  • 5+ years prior experience at management level required including prior management and employee development experience including the direct supervision of both management and staff level employees
  • Proven track record in successfully leading teams and management against tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in improving efficiencies based on targeted metrics
  • Prior experience working with internal clients and external customers to resolve finance, accounting or cash application issues
  • Month end closing processes and knowledge of accounting principles
  • SAP FI, Microsoft Excel
  • Forward thinking, proactive, strategic, detail-oriented, results-oriented, positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
