The Role:

The Engineer will work with product development engineering team undertaking performance measurements and silicon characterization of design components. He/she will be responsible for the development of both the hardware and software used with the evaluation platform, then utilize this platform in performing full characterization of the product. He/she will take ownership in all phases of new product development, taking silicon, eval board and software from early development stage to full production release (debug, evaluation, characterization, qualification, final test and support). The role also includes working closely with the test engineering and applications teams on product support and customer support issues.

The Candidate:

The candidate should be familiar with the use of precision measurement equipment and apply measurement techniques and tools required to establish different RF, analog, power, and digital performance metrics. Understanding the role of key RF design specifications such as IIP3, Noise Figure, etc. is critical. He/she must be able to format, analyze, and reach valid conclusions from measurement data.

Requirements:

  • MSc/BSc Degree in Electrical / Electronic and Communications Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong hands-on system/board design, assembly, debug and evaluation skill.
  • Familiarity with performing circuit evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment including DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meter, and RF signal sources.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Familiarity with the use of programming/scripting tools such as Python, Visual Basic, C++ programming, LabVIEW, Labwindows/CVI.
  • Be highly motivated, team player, fluent in English, very good oral and written communications skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for work under a microscope.
  • Familiarity with IC probing.
  • Exposure to FPGA tools.
