PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager, IT Development and Performance builds organizational capability, and drives individual, team and leadership development throughout the IT organization.  Developing and deploying strategy, strong execution and deep collaboration cross-functionally are key to success within Avery Dennison. This role will report to the Sr Director Enterprise IT Services.

The Manager, IT Development and Performance’s primary responsibilities will include:

  • Support the creation and development of an IT learning and development strategy for Avery Dennison, including development of individuals, teams and leaders.
  • Leverage and utilize combination of internal OD/LD talent, tools and assets, along with external talent, tools and assets.
  • Develop a global curriculum to provide targeted learning for all IT professional employees around the world.  Determine design, content, staging, and delivery.
  • Determine and build external partnerships with learning institutions that may be leveraged regionally and/or globally to develop and deliver the curriculum.
  • Lead effort to assess and respond to Employee Engagement survey results. Partner with IT leaders to assign team members in shared services and business units. Develop strategy and coordinate activities across IT.
  • Lead effort to develop and implement a Diversity and Inclusion program for IT. Partner with IT leaders to assign team members in shared services and business units. Collaborate with global and regional D&I leaders to ensure alignment with global and regional goals.
  • Establish key performance indicators for IT, demonstrating value-add through leading indicators. Develop and monitor the OGSM (objectives, goals, strategies and measures) for IT annually

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field is required; master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Strong project & process and process management skills
  • Proven training program design, delivery, coaching and facilitation skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, build relationships and influence at all levels
  • Real passion for building technology learning and leadership programs a plus
  • Hands-on experience assessing and improving IT functional capability
  • Ability to be self managed/directed and capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner
  • Ability to research trends and benchmark best practices and translate them into applicable approaches for the business
  • Strong skills in organizational assessment, gap analysis and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change in a matrixed organization
  • Prior experience in comparable role at a global Fortune 500 company highly desired
  • Organizational design and development skills and experience a plus
  • The ability to travel up to 25% of the time
