What’s the role?

As Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) Advisor, you’re going to be our go-to expert within the global Wind community, working on large offshore wind projects that will form a vital part of Shell’s commitment to finding new, cleaner energy solutions that are economically, environmentally and socially responsible.

Your focus will be on wide-ranging activities within an ever-changing environment, delivering and maintaining consistent and realistic LCOE estimates that reflect construction, operations, cost and risks for offshore wind projects. Always ensuring decisions and outcomes match project-specific requirements, identify innovative approaches for the future, and deliver value and performance across the energy industry.

More specific responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising LCOE methodologies and tools to produce LCOE estimates.
  • Incorporating project complexity factors into project estimates.
  • Performing scenario comparisons and uncertainty analysis.
  • Assessing prospect scope and develop consistent, high level conceptual estimates.

This is a role that will call on your strong communication and problem-solving skills as you nurture collaborative and trustworthy strategic partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, across the New Energies business and beyond.

Requirements

What we need from you 

We’re keen to hear from men and women with extensive industry experience, largely within the offshore wind industry. Alongside an Engineering degree and/or Certification as a Cost Estimator, or equivalent professional experience, we’d hope to see the following on your CV:

  • Fully versed with LCOE estimating principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the design and development of offshore wind farms, including, preferably, related power transmission infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to be proactive, resourceful and hands-on, with a flair for taking the initiative.
