General Job Description:

This position is based in the Dana World Headquarters in Novi, Michigan or in Maumee, Ohio.  Reporting directly to the VP North America Operations, this position will be responsible to lead the materials, planning and logistics function across the assigned plants and to support the manufacturing process.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of Position:

1. Lead and improve the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process for all assigned Plants  (SIOP)

a) Cross Functional reviews of customer demand (Market Intelligence and Customer Release)

b) Ensure long horizon forecast is extended to all suppliers (52 week Forecast)

c) Collect and Update Internal and External Capacity information (Plant Efficiency and Dana Committed capacity)

d) Develop and Execute Strategies and action plans to address gaps between Demand and Capacity (How to fulfill forecasted demand)

2. Customer Order Management

a) Develop and Implement a Customer Time Fence process as applicable

3. Control & Reduce Logistics costs

a) Improve utilization of planned trucks (Weekly planning of next weeks required trucks)

b) Improve cube or weight utilization of inbound trailers

c) Reduce and minimize Premium freight

d) Improve internal supply chain and materials flow between Dana plants (Utilize Value Stream Mapping)

4. Protection of Supply

a) Manage Dana Internal and External Escalation Process within Light Axle Plants (Daily Materials Manager Calls)

b) Develop a strong Materials and Logistics Team (Daily calls and interaction between plants)

c) Escalate potential supply issues to Purchasing if required

d) Allocate parts between Dana plants if required

5. Inventory Management

a) Develop and Implement Standard Material Replenishment processes (Kanban and Min-Max etc….)

b) Implement Standard Inventory Forecasting and Planning tools

c) Support Dana free cash flow objective by challenging the plants to control and optimize inventory levels

6. Develop and Execute Corporate Materials Policies and Processes within all Assigned Plants

a) Develop and implement Corporate Materials Policies and Processes

7.  Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications of Position:

•Bachelor Degree required; MBA preferred

•Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a Materials Management and Logistics function

•Must have excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MRP, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

•Understanding of both the Automotive and Commercial Vehicle industry preferred

•Must be proficient in the use of eBusiness tools and Microsoft Office Suite

•Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be capable of professionally interacting with both U.S. and Mexican plants

•Experience in Assembly, Machining, and Forging Operations preferred

•Must be detail oriented, proactive in anticipating requirements and able to work efficiently with minimal direction in a sometimes high pressure environment

•Skilled in composing written correspondence and preparing presentations for senior management

•Successfully interacts with a dispersed leadership team and others across functions and sites

•Must be proactive, detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning and follow-through skills

•Committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of problems of broad scope and complexity with little to no supervision

•Bi-lingual a plus (English and Spanish)

•Must be able to work flexible hours
