Description of the job
The group produces a range of market leading products under the brand name of AirPatrol and SCOT. As part of an ongoing and exciting product development programme, the group requires a Mechatronics Control Engineer to join a team that is developing Terminals features and performances.
You will be an experienced control engineer with expertise focussed on stabilised platform control systems.
You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your responsibilities will include:
– Help ensure that terminals solutions are correctly implemented
– Create and conduct the associated verification and validation activities
– Develop maintainable terminals oriented skills within the Terminals Product Group to support on-going and future developments
Your role will involve occasional travel for business, expected to be around five days per year and mainly to our site in Lancashire.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
Required skills
– Experience in the design of Motion control systems
– Experience of control system modelling, analysis and design using MATLAB Simulink or similar
– Familiar with Control system theory such as MIMO, system identification, Mathematical modelling (transfer function), matrix manipulation, PID, pole placement, adaptive control, fuzzy logic, stability analysis, tracking algorithm, axis transformation.
– Experience in Instrument design and interface
– Systems engineering experience; capturing system requirements specification and analysis for integrated Mechatronic system (Software, Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical integrated system).
– Knowledge of safety-critical system design
