Position Description

The Clinical Data Services Management Team is focused on building clinical data exchanges with providers in order to improve data accuracy and quality of care as part of UHC’s collective clinical programs.  This includes the focus to: Improve the completeness and timeliness of provider data Integration by leveraging industry leading standards for data sharing and technology enablement, delivery of an integrated prospective and retrospective HEDIS processing, and simplification of provider onboarding and data submission.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Remote EMR access Provisioning:    Perform simple project management related to onboarding of new remote connections to providers EMR systems.
  • End user remote access provisioning: Work with internal and external customers on basic account maintenance including activation, deactivation and auditing of Electronic Medical Record credentials
  • Remote EMR contracts support:  Ensure contracts reviewed by legal/ approved by applicable external entities (EPIC)/ obtain signatures/ proper storage
  • Adhoc Report support:   Support for daily requests and creation of reports pertaining to  implementation and operational progress
  • HBI processing support: provide support in external vendor CCD processing and acceptance
  • ECG/ONC/ODXP/CDX request fulfillment: Troubleshooting connections, deliverables and process development through external gateways
  • MUDE certification provisioning: Passing eligibility for new M&R contracts after implementation of newly built interfaces
  • New Interface provisioning (DEV OPS): Monitoring, tracking and troubleshooting interface development with Development team
  • File processing, monitoring, and troubleshooting (ORU/Flat files/CCD/ADT/MDM/outbound eligibilityGeneral troubleshooting in break fix occurrences in production workflows for all production file types.
  • Production Automation/configuration management: Supporting automation efforts along with general troubleshooting of new configurations adding to production workflows
  • End to end incident management:  level one helpdesk service request support and incident management and tracking
  • Problem management: troubleshooting and coordinating resolution towards major outages in operational workflows
  • Production change management:  Perform basic project management tasks related to implementing business functions related to operations
  • Data transformation support: production changes in submitter file formats;  general troubleshooting file layouts
  • Queue Monitoring (external incidents/external requests/batch load completions): End to end monitoring of all workflows to minimalize backlog
  • SME support for projects: Provide support as an expert for operations to new projects and implementation. 
  • Support end to end processes across providers, regional leaders, internal analysts and developers, and third party vendors such as HBI to ensure open issues and help desk tickets are processed quickly with appropriate resolutions.
  • Provide support for delivery staff including offshore global teams.
  • Communicate timely information to Operational Management including the status, issues, and risks of the current operational work queue
  • Drive resolution of incidents and issues.
  • Utilize customer service skills to resolve issues with internal and external organizations
  • Identify process improvements and lead/influence change, support and implement process improvements to ensure daily operations are as effective and efficient as possible.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are in implemented and followed driving toward very minimal defects or the recurrence of incidents.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities at the same.
  • Anticipate daily needs of the client/program.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is developed and maintained to describe operational processes related to the help desk for both the client’s needs and for training purposes.
  • Assist with defect, incident and problem management during implementation of data sources by means of querying databases bases and processing logs to investigate issues
  • Assist the Provider Data Performance Account Manager in collaborating with market management to identify and engage key providers to collect member encounter and clinical data 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years  working knowledge of SQL queries in tools such as SQL Server Management Studio by Microsoft to troubleshoot databases that store workflow information related to requests or to analyze incidents
  • 2+ years of experience assessing problems and implementing solutions or production fixes based on sound business practices, root cause analysis, process analysis
  • 1+ years of incident support, troubleshooting, and customer service
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite with focus on Excel, Word and Power point
  • Familiar with web browser configuration and troubleshooting including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science; related field or equivalent work experience
  • Configuration of Electronic Medical Record software experience such as Epic, Cerner, eCW, etc.
  • Ability to tailor to the appropriate level of detail and information based on the audience
  • Strong client management skills
  • Strong communication skills including explaining complex concepts, negotiation and persuasion, conflict resolution, and presenting to executive level management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven experience managing and influencing effectively in a matrix environment
  • Understanding of HIPAA and PHI compliance
  • Experience in healthcare vertical including EMR, Health Insurance, Acute care, Post-Acute, Health Systems, and HIE
  • Experience analyzing data and pulling information together for reporting purposes
  • Experience with standard health care file format including CCD, CCDA, HL7 etc.
  • Experience with both common and emerging interoperability standards such as HL7 V2.x, as well as CCD, C – CDA XML V3, IHE profile, FHIR (desirable)
  • Experience in SFTP, Linux Operating systems
