Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working as a technical customer engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer facing role.
  • Experience with an enterprise search or similar technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with on-premise and cloud based enterprise search solutions including content, identity, metadata ingestion and signals for relevance and ranking.
  • Understanding of search best practices with regard to search quality (relevance ranking, query understanding, NLP etc.), metadata ingestion.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Identity, Security and SAML/Oauth 2.0 as it applies to enterprise search.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand and work with emerging technologies and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Effective presentation and storytelling skills, and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

As a Partner Engineer in Cloud Search, you will help the launch and sale of Google Cloud Search, a new product offering from Google Cloud. You will enable others — both partner teams, and Googlers to earn technical Cloud Search wins. You will work hand-in-hand with the Partners, Sales, Product and Engineering teams as a subject matter and product expert to differentiate the Google Cloud Search offering for our customers. You will also help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud Search, explaining technical features, helping customers design their relevant architecture, and problem-solving any potential roadblocks.

Responsibilities

  • Be the product expert for Google Cloud Search in your region. Enable Google Customer Engineers and partners to address deep technical issues.
  • Work with customers to identify and qualify business opportunities. Identify key technical objections and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  • Work with the partner team to formulate solutions for customers and prospects that align with the Cloud Search messaging. Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to formulate customer specific solutions, share feedback from customers and assist in refining the product roadmap.
  • Share in-depth Google Cloud Search expertise to support the technical relationship with Google’s customers.
  • Work with partners and customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud Search product integrations in customer/partner. Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution.
