The People Consultant team work directly with staff to provide personalized guidance, support, and solutions on a breadth of People Operations-related activities, requiring expertise and depth across multiple organizations and specialties. As an HR People Consultant, you will ensure our Googlers experience the best we have to offer, using your client-facing, problem solving, and analytical skills to ensure tasks are actioned to the highest possible standard. You will focus on Googler experience, provide timely responses, share knowledge and experiences with fellow team members, and balance individual needs with Google’s philosophy, principles, and available resources. In addition to this, you’ll be responsible for coaching and consulting with staff and managers, collaborating with People Partners on programs and projects, working as part of your team and with other People Operations (POps) teams to simplify and improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support and consultation to the business, answering employee and manager queries about HR programs, policies and other HR-related topics.
  • Identify and propose solutions to improve HR policies.
  • Triage inquiries and connect employees to the right subject matter expert when necessary.
  • Assist People Partners with planning and roll-out of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Advise on performance management challenges and lead minor investigations and reorganizations.
