Position Specific Description

The position requires a subject matter expert on regulatory related activities, preferably with an emphasis on cost recovery, as the position supports significant FPL cost recovery initiatives. 

Primary responsibilities include (1) principal back-up for manager, (2) lead analyst for the fuel and capacity clause dockets as well as back-up for the environmental clause and conservation clause dockets, (3) developing strategy, drafting witness testimony, preparing and coordinating all reports and filings associated with assigned dockets, (4) calculating clause billing factors and numerous supporting schedules using the UI tool, (5) monitoring other utility dockets that could impact FPL’s clause recovery, (6) calculating numerous bill impacts and alternative scenarios, ad hoc analyses and research, (7) overseeing and managing the filing of monthly PSC fuel A-Schedules which are the basis for FPL’s fuel cost recovery, (8) managing the discovery process for assigned dockets, and (9) providing support to other business units, including Legal, to ensure accurate and timely deliverables to the PSC and stakeholders.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Analyzes and reports on changes in regulations and their expected impacts
•   Prepares federal and state certification applications and required filings
•   Assists management in the monitoring of state and federal regulatory and legislative development to identify issues affecting company’s operations and plans
•   Assists in coordinating the representation of organization’s interests before state regulatory and legislative bodies or industry standard setting committees
•   Influences rules and procedures
•   Provides guidance to less experienced regulatory affairs analysts
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
•  Experience:7+ years
