Job Description

As a Program Protection Lead, you will lead, develop, implement, and administer a Program Protection (P2) Engineering Security program for a large, highly-complex group of programs located in Seal Beach, California. Position Responsibilities:

– Ensure compliance with all government and company  regulations/requirements. Lead a robust Program Protection program to protect government, intellectual, third party and company information from unauthorized disclosures.

– Develops the strategy for program protection and continuously monitors and modifies the program to address a changing external environment.

– Interfaces with design engineers, analysts, test, suppliers, and operations teams

– Identifies Program Protection deficiencies.  Develops and implements corrective action.

– Provides innovation and creativity into the counter-intelligence program, security awareness training and education program (briefings, bulletins and visual reminders) to educate, refresh, and motivate personnel to protect people, property and information.

– Initiates and completes Program Protection tasks toward long-range goals and objectives.

– Oversees Sub-Contractor P2 Management (e.g., providing P2 oversight and direction with site visits and reviews) to ensure compliance with all government regulations/requirements.

– Collaborates with program and government customers to ensure all P2 initiatives are effectively implemented.

– Reviews documents, drawings, and procedures for P2 policy compliance.

– Present briefings and training to Boeing and other team members.

– Acts as Public Affairs focal for the program and coordinates approvals with the SAF/PA for all of the Boeing media inquiries, photos and messaging associated with the program and activities conducted around the country.

– Up to 25% domestic travel (sometimes with short notice)

Qualifications

This position requires an active/current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Active/current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • Experience with avionics, system security engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Spacecraft engineering experience, launch experience and a technical security background that can work independently across all disciplines of the program.
    • Strong familiarity with the industry security regulations, controls, and corrective actions.
    • Familiarity with SCG (Security Classification Guides), OPSEC (Operations Security), SSP (System Security Plan), P2P (Program Protection Plan), Boeing PRO-2227.
  • Understanding of CPIs, Threats, Vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Prior Program Protection leadership experience
    • Cybersecurity experience.
    • Out of the box thinking to come up with an acceptable P2 approach to meet program needs and the intent of the regulations with mitigations and acceptable risks.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and oral presentation skills


Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s 14 or more years’ experience, Master’s with 12 or more years’ experience or PhD with 9 or more years’ experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
