Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilization of Dana MRP system to create purchase orders to order material in support of Samples Department Component and outside processing purchase requirements.
  • Purchase Requisition approval status review.  Reminders sent to approvers to expedite Purchase Order creation.
  • Lead effort of targeting new suppliers for commodities that require additional supplier capacity.
  • Work with suppliers to improve capacity and quality.
  • Work with suppliers to assure they are on schedule to meet the timing they committed to.
  • Submit requests for new supplier additions into our MRP System.
  • Periodic review and closing of old Purchase Orders with no receipts or invoices applied.
  • Maintain confidentiality agreement status for active Samples Department Suppliers.
  • Creation of Non-Sale Commercial Invoices.
  • Understand rules and regulations for exporting parts out of the US.
  • Support and execution of Dana Operating System  (DOS)  Objectives
  • Support and active involvement in department improvement initiatives.
  • Utilization of Dana MRP system to execute customer shipments – Back-Up Function
  • Create specialized labeling per customer requirements – Back-Up Function

Education and/or Experience:

  • 4 year degree and 2 years minimum experience in purchasing or 2 year degree and 5 years minimum in purchasing
  • CPM preferred

  • Good interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
  • Good problem solving skills, including ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges.
  • Must demonstrate a strong business acumen including knowledge of manufacturing, finance, marketing, and quality to be able to understand the impact of sourcing decisions on the overall business success.
  • Familiarity with Procurement and Quality Supplier Metrics
  • Must have an understanding of blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong personal computer skills required, including experience with MS Office software.
  • Understanding of ISO/TS 16949 or QS-9000 Quality Specifications.
  • Willing to travel occasionally and periodically work non-traditional business hours.
