Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance Technician for Keurig Dr Pepper, you will be responsible for supporting Operations from a Quality perspective.  You will work with Operations to identify, analyze and resolve quality problems. You will ensure that product meets specifications and that customer expectations are consistently being produced. You will be reporting regularly on quality issues, as well as supporting QA roles in problem identification and prevention. In this position you will promote and support Keurig Dr Pepper’s continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the Keurig Dr Pepper Coffee Operations in all aspects of Quality and the Company Purpose and Principles.

What you will do:

  • Participate in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to reduce process variation and prevent process and product nonconformities
  • Document data and facts in clear and easy to understand formats in order to work issues most effectively
  • Take initiative and responsibility for needed actions to support quality and business goals
  • Ensure the rigorous application of standards and the compliance to specifications from a quality standpoint
  • Help to define, develop, and maintain quality information records
  • Assist in communications to internal customers from a quality standpoint, and for facilitation of processing of nonconforming material
  • Use basic quality principles, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives; train others as you develop expertise
  • Conduct a quality test/inspection plan (as appropriate for area(s) assigned) for periodic reporting and comparison to field data
  • Participate in internal process and product audits
  • Interface with internal and external quality partners
  • Become knowledgeable in MES and SAP transactions for the flow of work orders, raw materials, and finished goods
  • Be involved with QA testing in one or more product or process areas, including all SKU’s or items produced within those processes
  • Represent the customer perspective – help to answer all anticipated customer questions during the problem resolution process
  • Use quality tools (and others) to troubleshoot, identify, and analyze problems to the true root cause level, and work with the appropriate teams to implement solutions and ensure the identified root cause problems are resolved
  • Understand the process areas responsible for, as well as other input and or output processes that may have an impact relationship; define control points, bottlenecks and work with process teams to effectively monitor them.
  • Help to define, develop, and maintain quality information records
  • Communicate and educate other functional groups on the role of the Quality department, and the responsibilities of everyone for quality
  • Multitasking is required daily, and constant assessment of prioritization is required to best meet both the customer and business needs.
  • Must work effectively in team environments, communicating and participating in a constructive manner.
  • Must be proactive, anticipating and planning to meet objectives by finding ways to identify potential obstacles and improve processes and procedures to prevent occurrence
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Keurig Dr Pepper and the department

Requirements

What you must have:

  • 1-2+ years of Quality Assurance experience. HAACP background preferred
  • 2-4+ years’ experience in a production environment required
  • Coffee sensory process experience desired
  • Manufacturing experience in the food industry desired
  • Statistics and analytical experience desired
  • Skilled in Microsoft office products; especially Excel
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions
  • High level of self-initiative
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Technical skills and QA Lab tools experience – broad exposure base desired
  • Appreciation and passion for coffee preferred
  • Ability to uphold Safety standards, participates in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follows our Manufacturing best practices
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions
  • Ability to walk the interior and exterior of the plant while monitoring, assesing, and interacting with associates (50%-70% of the workday)
  • Ability to do sedentary light office work with high frequency of keyborading/computer work (30%-50% of the workday)
  • Must be able to travel independently
