Shell UK in Aberdeen is an exciting and busy place to work: With 5 Final Investment Decisions (FID) taken in 2018 and continuous drilling for the next 3 years, the successful candidate can expect to be at the heart of a dynamic development team working to deliver significant production.

This position is within the Reservoir Engineering Discipline Team of the Shell UK Development, which consists of more than 30 fields developed by fixed platforms or FPSOs.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for reservoir management and identification of business opportunities of the assigned field. The main purpose of the role is to maximize the value of the hydrocarbon portfolio by contribution to identification and maturing business opportunities on the basis of field development planning and reservoir monitoring. The role includes preparation of production forecast profiles and resulting reserves for surface and subsurface opportunities, including the identification of risk mitigation measures.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on these opportunities. There are approximately 20 Reservoir Engineers at all levels of experience and close co-operation with colleagues within subsurface and with other disciplines will be an essential part of the job.

Requirements

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a Reservoir Engineer looking for the chance to broaden her/his technical skills and further develop leadership skills.
  • The team supports development opportunities for staff with training, on the job experience and mentoring. Particular attention will be paid to ensuring that staff is developed in accordance with their personal needs.
  • Proven experience in Reservoir Engineering is a pre-requisite.
  • You have a working knowledge of Reservoir Engineering analytical evaluation techniques and numerical simulation modelling (alternatively the willingness to learn these tools quickly is essential), with exposure towards field development planning activities and reservoir surveillance.
  • The interest to collaborate with a wide range of technical and business professionals.
  • Technical coaching from a seasoned Senior Reservoir Engineer  is available.
  • An ability to produce high quality technical work and on time.
