Position Purpose:

The Retail Selling Experience Manager (RSEM) is responsible for leading through Petco’s vision, mission and values in order to develop high-performing teams that consistently deliver top-line sales and growth. The RSEM will accelerate Petco’s transformation to build a winning selling culture and create superior experiences for customers. This leader will drive his/her business through a focus on culture change, tools and technology, operational excellence, and a winning selling model that store partners will be motivated and inspired to embrace. This position requires a drive for results, passion for the pet health and wellness industry, exceptional customer service, and the aptitude to learn, lead, coach and teach partners at all levels.

Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Enable cultural change by objectively coaching leaders to implement, execute and sustain Petco’s selling model, and to shift from compliance to commitment.
  • Coaches and influences assigned region and districts to ensure successful deployment and adoption of Petco’s strategic initiatives with a primary focus on building a selling culture and driving operational excellence.
  • Proactively validates implementation and execution of retail transformation initiatives. Manages and mitigates risk of changes not being implemented.
  • Leads planning, scheduling, resourcing and progress updates and conducts readiness and adoption assessments for assigned region, districts and stores.
  • Conducts certification assessments for assigned region, districts and stores.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Ability to lead cross functionally with no direct reports.

Work Environment:

Continuous mobility throughout stores daily

Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. daily

Stoop, kneel and crouch daily

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred

2-3+ years of fast-paced, retail management or other related working experience

Financial management: success with driving top-line sales and interpreting reporting data

Retail management: proven ability achieving operational excellence and driving a selling and service culture

Leadership management: experience developing top talent, swiftly adapting to change and leading others through change, developing collaborative relationships with others, and leading and influencing. Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a US Passport for international travel
