Job Summary
JOB OVERVIEW
The Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting business and maximising revenue potential from selected Corporates, Professional Conference Organisers and Event Companies as determined by the Hotel’s revenue plan strategies, delivering both events and accommodation business for Hilton Sydney.
JOB OUTCOMES
 
Primary Responsibilities:
• Managing a core set of PCO’s and corporate accounts as designated by your Assistant Commercial Director- Sales.
• Responsible for the acquisition and retention of accounts along with identifying new accounts, to achieve pre- determined goals and budgets.
• The client value propositions are to be delivered and relationships built at all levels of the organisational structure of the customer.
• Liaising with Hilton sales within Australasia to ensure complete coverage on behalf of Hilton Sydney.
• Sales trips as business levels dictate.  These sales trips will be planned and executed in conjunction with your Assistant Commercial Director- Sales and input from the Commercial Director.
• Attend trade shows as deemed appropriate.
• Development of an annual strategy plan for account portfolio in conjunction with your Assistant Commercial Director- Sales.
• Meet targets as identified in the Business Plans to achieve revenue across the assigned market segments for Hilton Sydney and in line with your incentive plan.
• To be aware of the competition, including average room rates and market share information within your agreed market segments.
• Plan and execute strategy on your selected accounts to increase current production.
• Analyse and supply data to your Assistant Commercial Director- Sales to assist in the preparation of the annual revenue plans and rate reviews for Hilton Sydney.
• To exchange information on a regular basis with your team and if relevant the other property sales teams that may provide further sales leads with revenue potential. • Ensure that databases are kept up to date and hold accurate information that is entered in a timely manner.
• Host and entertain potential and existing clients in order to enhance rapport and generate revenue and room night potential.  This may require you to work evenings and weekends.
• Initiate, co-ordinate and conduct site inspections and familiarisation trips from the designated market place.  This may require you to work evenings and weekends.

 

THE PERSON – QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Preferable tertiary qualifications
  • Able to take management direction and work well with a team to achieve goals
  • Previous experience in sales, preferably in a hotel environment
  • Self motivated and able to work effectively without constant supervision
  • Strong administration and communication skills
