Responsibilities

Will create software development action plans and processes for integrating activities, and optimizing department resources to meet major goals and objectives in Beaverton, OR. Will perform and contribute to software application support, problem solving, and issue resolution with internal and external resources. Will contribute and review recommendations for technical solutions to software application problems. Will resolve issues and determine options for software issue resolution and risk mitigation. Will manage and contribute to the technical components of the Request-for-Proposal (RFP) processes. Will define and communicate requirements for technical environments, and determine the technical scope for projects. Will provide technical estimates for project budget input to Senior/ Project Manager. Will lead and assume “ownership” of engagements with software vendors to ensure that code and configuration requirements and deliverables are met. Will enforce software architecture, governance, security, and global process standards with regard to system changes and deployments. Will coordinate software standards compliance issue identification and remediation. Will collaborate with other teams on software integration needs and designs. Will contribute to database design and create critical-path, high-risk, advanced software technical designs. Will approve proof-of-concept efforts and review results. Will enforce department software architectural direction and ensure consistent technical approach within the department. Will allocate software resources based on performance monitoring and tuning results. Will manage and enforce performance thresholds and standards. Will review and approve performance test results, recommendations, and tuning results. Will oversee the creation of software test plans, test execution, and validation of test results.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or software engineering Experience Five years of overall progressive experience in application engineering. Skills/Requirements one year of experience in the following skill sets: (1) Amazon Web Services; (2) data warehousing; (3) Hadoop; (4) Tableau; (5) Informatica; (6) Spark; (7) Unix shell scripting; (8) Teradata; and (9) ERWIN data modeling.
