Website S&P Global

As a truly global company with a dynamic story to tell that impacts economies and markets, S&P Global leans on a worldwide network of communicators to bring our narrative to the public, prospects, clients and colleagues.

We are looking for an experienced New York-based Communications Manager to join a team dedicated to raising the profile and maintaining the reputation of S&P Global Market Intelligence, one of the four divisions that make up S&P Global. Your core responsibilities will be managing our media relationships in North America within the broader strategy set by the Head of Communications for Market Intelligence; you will also be part of a team that leads employee communications for the division. You will have a team behind you willing to flex and support your work, as you will for them. This is an opportunity to work in an agile, collaborative and transparent environment; you will be of a similar mindset and look to contribute, develop and nurture this collegial environment. You understand financial markets. You have strong press relationships in North America and are very familiar with its media landscape. You will work with stakeholders and team members across regions; aligning with Marketing; and creating and delivering messages externally and internally that illuminate S&P Global Market Intelligence’s strategic direction, image and brand.

The Role:
Media Relations — Raise and support the overall media visibility for the insight, data and analysis published by S&P Global Market Intelligence leveraging your existing relationship with key financial market journalists.
Public Relations – Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders while exploring opportunities to engage public influencers.
Strategic Message Development – Lead the creation of key messaging that will resonate both internally and externally with key stakeholders.
Internal Communications – Generate compelling and creative employee-focused content aligned with the core goals, objectives and success measures of Market Intelligence.

The Impact:
You will be a part of a new and dynamic communications group who can flex between external and internal communications. You will have the opportunity to bring greater transparency to the markets by promoting our research and analysis, while also being an external spokesperson for key products and business objectives. You will help employees access the right information at the right time so they can work more effectively to bring products to market.

The Career Opportunity:
The right candidate for this role has 6-8 years of experience developing and executing media relations strategies and tactics. You can work independently; are an exceptional writer; have a passion to grow, learn and succeed; thrive in a varied working day; and take a high level of pride in your work and results. You will stretch out of your comfort zone — with the support of senior leadership and your colleagues. In doing so, you will amass new sets of skills to fulfil a holistic communications function.

The Team / The Business:
You will serve as a key representative for the division and the primary point of contact in the Americas for media. Our team adapts to the needs of the clients, both external and internal. As a communications team we prioritize supporting the global team as a whole and achieving collective success. We have a professional, transparent culture supported by a strong leader and a terrific network of communications colleagues in sister divisions and at the corporate level. This is an ideal role for a financial communications professional who wants to be an integral part of a team that values hard work, helping one another, recognition and transparency.
