Position Description

Positions in this family are involved in the areas of staffing and recruiting, compensation, benefits, EEO, affirmative action, employee relations, organizational design and development, etc.

 

Positions in this function are responsible for development and interpretation of employment policies and practices, as well as consultation with HRDirect and Human Capital on high-risk, high-level, or organization-impacting workplace issues to ensure internal equity and legal compliance. Function is also responsible for risk mitigation and compliance activities, including responding to employment claims filed with external agencies, union avoidance and affirmative action requirements.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translates concepts into practice
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others
  • Acts as a resource for others with less experience and provides analytical review and feedback

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Established experience working in a HR environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), inclusive of pivot tables, charts/graphs for reporting
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain deadlines
  • Ability to be self-directed and independent
  • A thorough understanding of HR policy and processes
  • Strong credibility, and ability to influence at a senior level with strong stakeholder management skills Proven experience in conflict resolution
  • Coaching skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CIPD Qualification
  • Prior experience with reporting from HR systems such as PeopleSoft
  • General reporting experience in a HR Analyst or related role
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytic skills with high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and interpret data and identify patterns in data or processes
