Responsibilities/Tasks
Review and assess the telecommunications infrastructure that supports the customer’s missions and any facilities and organizations that support them using a consistent and repeatable methodology as an integral part of the BSA process to determine the mission survivability of an organization and its supporting facilities to include equipment and routing, from a communications perspective, and their ability to complete all assigned missions from a communications perspective.
Research and map complex telecommunications mission architecture to identify critical facilities, functions, or infrastructure.
Identify all aspects of communications-related vulnerabilities, increase the customer’s awareness of potential vulnerabilities and impacts of communications on mission execution capability, and provide recommendations to mitigate or eliminate identified vulnerabilities.

Required Skills/Capabilities
Mastery knowledge and working level operational experience with commonly used DoD data and voice networks and transmission systems.Mastery knowledge with configuration, operation, and management of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and other DoD and Commercial terrestrial and satellite communications systems and networks.

Must be an expert in:
• Ku/X/L Band and tactical satellite terminals AND
• Tactical military and civilian land mobile radios
Mastery knowledge of military command and control operations and supporting DoD C4I systems including identifying critical mission systems, their vulnerabilities and the impact on the broader strategic, operational and tactical implications on higher DoD or National level missions.
Demonstrate current knowledge of and familiarity with the following:
• Fiber optic distribution systems
• Optical transport networks
• SONET/SDH, ATM, IP, and TDM protocols, equipment and networks
• Encryptions systems
• DISN, DSN, DRSN, DMS SIPRNet, NIPRNet, JWICS, DSCS, Milstar, AFSCN, GMD, GPS, cellular, Microwave, and various other DoD and commercial architectures and SATCOM systems
• Working with DISA
Course work and/or certifications in the broader area of Information Systems Security and Networks, such as telecommunications systems, VoIP Systems Security, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
• Working with DISA
Course work and/or certifications in the broader area of Information Systems Security and Networks, such as telecommunications systems, VoIP Systems Security, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
Experience in handling, storing, safe-guarding, and destruction of COMSEC materials.
Expert in the performance of in-the-field vulnerability-based assessments in the technical area of telecommunications.
Minimum of 10 years related experience.
TS-SCI Current clearance required

Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications related technical discipline. In lieu of a degree, commensurate operational experience may be substituted.
