Job Description

Sr. Plant Accountant

Reporting to: Plant Controller

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, financial statements and other required reports
  • Oversee work of G/L Accountant located in Corporate Office.
  • Work closely with shared services (Accounts Payable & Receivable) to ensure appropriate support being provided to plant. Assisting with research as needed.
  • Provide annual physical inventory and cycle count support.
  • Payroll accounting duties
  • Serve as payroll processing backup for HR.
  • Maintain strong internal controls.
  • Proactively initiate and execute process improvement projects to promote efficiencies
  • Assist with internal and external financial audit preparation.
  • Prepare daily flash reports.
  • Responsible for intercompany accounting/tasks.
  • Manager Purchasing Card and T/E program.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Degree required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and financial data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Payroll accounting experience is a plus
  • Quick learning, versatile with strong analytical and interpersonal skills plus superior. attention to detail.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work extra hours when necessary.
