Role Summary:

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:-

  • Ensures successful, end -to -end delivery of
    database cloud product development and automation projects through stakeholder
    engagement.
  • Establish performance baseline, capacity thresholds, correlate events, and define monitoring criteria
  • Drive automated solutions to address potential problems
  • Drive development of dashboards, bots, micro services to address the operational issues.
  • Provide impact assessment and mitigation plan for changes going into the production environment
  • Develop availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services
  • Develop response plans to potential failure points and evaluate effectiveness during planned tests
  • Provide technical coaching and direction to junior team members

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum 8 years of professional experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE will not sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future for this role.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Experience in Database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL in AWS/Cloud hosting platforms.
    • Experience deploying and managing databases in AWS RDS and EC2
    • Experience and knowledge of AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift desirable.
    • AWS Certification preferred (Solution architect or SysOps Administrator or DevOps Engineer
    • Knowledge of continuous development and continuous integration process and framework
    • Experience in automation configuration management tools and scripting languages like JSON, Python, Chef, Puppet and knowledge of Cloud formation.
    • Experience in delivering IT projects at enterprise scale
    • Experience of working in Agile projects and knowledge of scrum framework
    • Experience in managing and delivering significant change across an organization
    • Strong collaboration skills with ability to influence outcomes and co-ordinate team efforts to attain shared goals
    • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization
    • Self-starter – requires minimal direction to accomplish goals
    • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and activities
    • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans.
    • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
