Role Summary:

The Strategic Transaction Manager (STM), will be the primary parts fulfillment order manager for parts fulfillment needs in the Steam Power Americas region. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop internal and external customer relationships, take ownership of wing to wing parts fulfillment deliverables, and affect short and long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Steam Power Americas – Strategic Transaction Manager you will:

  • Focus on delivering key parts fulfillment metrics, including On Time Delivery (OTD) & escaping part quotes & orders defects
  • Serve as customer fulfillment owner/ primary point of contact for Transactional Flow, and Conversion, Modification & Upgrades (CM&U) parts orders for with 100% (external & internal) customer centricity
  • Drive customer service excellence by enhancing internal and external customer relationships
  • Provide timely support of assigned orders through successful execution of quotes/ order delivery
  • Drive operating rhythm around fulfillment metrics including customer pacing / update calls
  • Work quickly, accurately, & effectively to resolve customer issues to mitigate resulting escalations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for regional business processes
  • Support financial transactions with regards to sales credit, receivables and collections
  • Expedite material through sourcing to meet customer needs and business goals
  • Assume complete ownership of order, documents, accuracy, clarity, quality and timeliness
  • Manage on time parts delivery to customer request / promise dates
  • Proactively partner with engineering and sourcing on early identification and resolution of undefined lines

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing or parts fulfillment positions

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in parts related roles with GE or Alstom steam/ gen technology
  • Green belt or Black Belt certification / LEAN experience or equivalent quality certification / experience
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with Energy/ Power Generation industry
  • Ability to establish priorities and initiate pro-active issue resolution
  • Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Strong teaming skills with a can-do attitude & ability to work effectively across matrixed organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of / proficiency in SAP/PMx ERP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
  • Self-starter with ability to achieve results and attention to detail
  • Strong process mindset with demonstrated track record
