Lexmark International is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Supplier Relationship Lead position located in Boulder, Colorado. The Supplier Relationship Lead position manages the relationships with direct and indirect suppliers. In collaboration with a global cross-functional team, the Supplier Relationship Lead position is responsible for supporting the business area needs by creating and executing a formal sourcing strategy. This position is responsible for fostering supplier partnerships.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Lexmark Business Operations and Technical Teams to identify, select, and oversee our supplier and vendor relationships to ensure continuity of supply for our manufacturing operations.
- Facilitate the development of these supplier relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and drive mutually beneficial, lean initiatives.
- Leverages knowledge of supply chain best practices to support local logistics and purchasing team to implement strong processes.
- Able to develop strong understanding of manufacturing material requirements.
- Establishes local practices, which are aligned with the Lexmark Corporate policies and procedures, to ensure and enhance overall quality and continuity of supply with objective of optimizing the Lexmark supply base.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and execute towards strategic sourcing opportunities.
- Establish a consistent approach and defined set of behaviors that foster an environment of mutual respect, dignity, and trust.
- Works with the Lexmark Business Operations and Technical Teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drives these projects to completion.
- Uses project management expertise to drive projects to completion with cross-functional team.
- Understand key suppliers’ business and strategic goals and balance appropriately with the requirements and priorities of Lexmark.
- Understand the spending patterns, external supply market and Lexmark business needs to modify the sourcing strategy accordingly.
- Working command of contract language to facilitate discussions between suppliers/vendors and the Lexmark Corporate Global Sourcing Team to put Non-Disclosure Agreements, Production Agreements, and Professional Services Agreements into effect.
- Interface with the business leaders and lead the cross-functional team to execute the aligned sourcing strategy which may include the development of RFx, use of eSourcing tools, bid evaluations, supplier evaluations, negotiation strategy, negotiations, supplier selection and contracting.
- Lead RFx process including identifying of suppliers, generating of request, analyzing bids, negotiating total cost and terms, awarding business, and completing necessary contractual documents.
- Provide both strategic and tactical leadership to identify improvement opportunities and to implement a best practices Supply Base Management organization. Drive engagement among all involved parties to ensure tactical actions are consistent aligned with Lexmark Corporate strategy.
- Some international travel is required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technical Field (Science or Engineering). MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with demonstrated knowledge of sourcing process, strategy and market drivers (International sourcing experience with Asia purchasing a plus).
- Strategic thinker, capable of motivating others, and managing complex tasks.
- Strong acumen for driving project deadlines, accountability, and delivering results.
- Strong ability to develop work plans, using a data driven, analytical approach, to drive projects to completion. Operational Excellence/Lean Manufacturing experience desired.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ideally demonstrated when working with senior-level supplier representatives from various geographies and functional disciplines.
- Solid working knowledge of:
- SAP ERP
- SAP CLM / MDM
- SAP Ariba
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proven negotiation and analytical skills.
