Role Summary:

The Technical Project Manager for the Energy Storage business will ensure GE’s technical solution meets project requirements, schedule and cost objectives. This role provides a critical linkage between Energy Storage Engineering and Global Project and Sourcing teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Technical Project Manager, you will:

  • Collaborate with Global Project and Engineering teams to ensure deliverables are clearly defined, assigned, and aligned with project milestones
  • Develop and maintain Energy Storage project schedules and actions items for assigned projects
  • Implement and ensure team utilization of OTR processes and tools
  • Work closely with other functional disciplines including Purchasing, Suppliers, Regional Project Managers, Finance, Site / Commissioning Manager, and Contract / Operations Management to ensure overall project plan is maintained
  • Ensure communications and progress reporting for technical project teams
  • Ensure a clear handoff to ES Service team for assigned projects
  • Communicate customer feedback and lessons learned to Engineering, Program Management, Sales, and Product Management
  • Ensure operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership and compliance

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science based discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technical / engineering project management in power generation or distribution

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to Customer, GE, or Supplier Facilities (Domestic and International)
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
  • Able to interface effectively with multiple Engineering disciplines (System, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Software, Commissioning, Product Safety and Compliance)
  • Working knowledge of battery energy storage systems including power electronics, transformers, switchgear, and controls, Electrical engineering knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in meeting project / program goals, while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Ability to connect as a trusted peer at all levels of the organization and with colleagues
  • Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Intellectual curiosity and technical aptitude necessary to rapidly learn new technologies and customer applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Project and/or Primavera
