I'm originally from Blythewood, SC--and joined the U.S Army in June 1989 at the age of 18. After serving over 20 plus years in the military, I retired from the U.S Army on 1 February 2012 as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer (SFC/E-7). While enlisted, my background was primarily Supply Chain, logistics and procurement. I have worked for military commands that had me responsible for millions of dollars of military assets. I have also been responsible for supporting our war efforts by requisitioning, procuring and shipping support (food, vehicles, weapons, ammunition)to the multiple units fighting overseas that fell under the command that I was assigned to. I had to ensure that accountability of these high-dollar value items at all times. Now that I have retired from the Army, I have been an advocate for Veterans who are striving to represent civilian organizations just as they have represented the military. I am an advocate for higher learning; therefore, when I retired from the Army, I had the opportunity to further my education. I pursued and obtained both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Healthcare Management. It is my belief that my transferable skills will allow me to work in an industry where my military service will be appreciated as well as the skill set that I offer. I am looking for an organization in which I can showcase my abilities and talents--one that I can "leave it on the field" for just as I did for the organization that gave me so much--the U.S. Army.
